Boxing vs Muay Thai: Which One Should You Start With?
Two great arts, two different experiences. An honest breakdown to help you pick your first class.
It is the question we hear most at the front desk. The honest answer: both are excellent, and the best one is the one you will show up for. Here is how they differ.
/Boxing: the art of hands and feet
Boxing uses two weapons, but uses them with incredible depth. Footwork, head movement, timing and combinations. If you love precision and rhythm, boxing will hook you fast.
/Muay Thai: the art of eight limbs
Punches, kicks, knees and elbows, plus the clinch. It is a more complete striking system and a brutal full-body workout. Expect your hips and core to work harder than ever.
/Fitness
Both will get you in shape. Boxing tends to build shoulders, speed and cardio. Muay Thai adds leg strength, flexibility and more total-body demand.
/Self-defense
Boxing teaches you to see strikes coming and move. Muay Thai adds range with kicks and control in close. Many of our members eventually train both.
/Our advice
