From Class to Competition: How DKM Fighters Get Fight-Ready
When you're ready, we take you to compete in fights. Here is the road from first class to first fight night.
Nobody walks into DKM ready to fight. I certainly did not. Every fighter on our team started in a beginner class, learning how to wrap their hands. The difference is that at DKM, when you are ready, we take you to compete.
/Stage one: fundamentals
Months of stance, footwork, defence and clean combinations. This is where most people want to rush, and where the best fighters are patient.
/Stage two: controlled sparring
Coaches pair you with the right partners and build intensity slowly. You learn to stay calm when someone is throwing back. That calm is the whole game.
/Stage three: fight camp
Once the coaches agree you are ready and you want it, we pick a show and build a camp. Six to ten weeks of structured sparring, conditioning, weight management and strategy for the style you are likely to face.
/Stage four: fight night
Your coaches are in your corner from weigh-ins to the final bell. The team shows up loud. Win or lose, you walk out a different person than the one who walked in.
/Do you have to compete?
Never. Most members train for fitness, confidence and skill. Competing is an invitation, not an expectation. But if the fire is there, we will help you use it.
