Your First Boxing Class at DKM: What Actually Happens
No mystery, no intimidation. Minute by minute, here is what your first free class looks like.
The hardest part of your first class is walking through the door. After that, we take care of you. Here is exactly what happens.
/Before class
Arrive ten minutes early. Wear athletic clothes and indoor shoes, bring water. We have gloves and wraps to lend. Fill in your waiver and tell the coach about any injuries.
/Warm up: 10 minutes
Skipping, footwork drills and mobility. Your heart rate climbs, your body loosens up.
/Technique: 20 minutes
Stance, guard, jab and cross. A coach walks the room correcting every detail. Nobody is left behind.
/Bag work: 20 minutes
Rounds on the heavy bag putting it all together. This is where people start smiling.
/Finish: 10 minutes
Core work, stretching and a quick chat with the coach about which class fits you best. Then you head home tired, proud and already planning the next one.
